From 1.7.17 Balmoral Surgery regrets we will no longer be able to accept orders for prescriptions over the telephone. Please use one of the alternative ordering methods instead.
From 1.8.19 we will require 72 hours (working days) notice to prepare repeat prescriptions.
Online Repeat Prescriptions
To order your repeat prescriptions online, please click on the link below. To use this service you have to have registered first in person at reception. To register please bring with you two forms of ID. One must be photographic and the other must be proof of your address. The receptionists can provide more information if required. Following our change of computer system in June, anyone previously registered for online services, will unfortunately have to re-register. We apologise for any inconvenience but this is unavoidable.
The reason we have to request ID presented at the Practice in person, is because this online service can also give access to medical records. We have to ensure that only the correct patient is being given the online sign on.
Electronic Prescription Service
We would encourage all patients to arrange to have their repeat prescriptions sent to their choice of local pharmacy electronically in line with national guidance. This means there is no need for a paper prescription and it cuts down the interactions the patient needs to make to order and collect their prescription and then their medication. Once ordered, the prescription transfers electronically directly to the Pharmacy meaning the patient does not need to call at the Surgery to collect a paper prescription. Patients who are interested in this service should contact reception or their chosen Pharmacy for more details and to nominate their chosen Pharmacy.
Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) which is providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat dispensing prescriptions. The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to the NHSBSA. A member of our clinical team may contact these patients soon to explain the benefits of this service.
