From 1.7.17 Balmoral Surgery regrets we will no longer be able to accept orders for prescriptions over the telephone. Please use one of the alternative ordering methods instead.
If you have a medicine regularly your doctor will usually issue you with a computer request slip. Please hand in your computer slip or send it by post giving at least two working days’ notice before it is needed. It will be ready for you to collect after 2pm. E.g. Order at 9am Mon morning - ready to collect after 2pm on Wednesday. We have arranged a prescription ordering and collection service with all of the local chemists. This is available to all of our patients and can be arranged by calling in to see your chosen pharmacist.
Online Repeat Prescriptions
To order your repeat prescriptions online, please click on the link below. To use this service you have to have registered first in person at reception. To register please bring with you two forms of ID. One must be photographic and the other must be proof of your address. The receptionists can provide more information if required.
The reason we have to request ID presented at the Practice in person, is because this online service can also give access to medical records. We have to ensure that only the correct patient is being given the online sign on.
Electronic Prescription Service
We now have electronic transfer of prescriptions direct to the patient's choice of Pharmacy. This means there is no need for a paper prescription and it cuts down the interactions the patient needs to make to order and collect their prescription and then their medication. Once ordered, the prescription transfers electronically directly to the Pharmacy meaning the patient does not need to call at the Surgery to collect a paper prescription. Patients who are interested in this service should contact reception for more details and to nominate their chosen Pharmacy.
